Transfer flight from Oslo

According to wikipedia, at Oslo airport you have to retrieve your checked bags before boarding your connecting flight. Since we have only 44 minutes in the airport, I'm extremely concerned that we won't have nearly enough time to do so. If anyone has recent experience, please share with me as soon as possible. We're leaving for our 2nd honeymoon tomorrow!

Since you didn't give your particulars you should read this: https://avinor.no/flyplass/oslo/planlegg-reisen/transfer/transfer

Where are you connecting to? It appears that you should be sure if you check baggage, to check it through to your final destination.

Arriving from a destination abroad who is going on abroad

Follow the signs Transfer on arrival and find your next flight on the information board in the departure hall and go directly to your street. If the luggage has not been checked in to the next destination, you must pick it up at the arrival hall and check in again.

It depends, from where and to where are you flying and which airline?

It appears to me, if you check your bags through to Nice, you don't have to collect your bags. You will just follow the procedures to your next flight. The website mentions checking your bags through to your destination (Nice) as very important. So, be sure to do that in Newark.

I have never connected through Oslo, so I am just following what I read on the airport's website. I am not an expert on this process. Happy 2nd honeymoon.

Thank you so much for your reply and well wishes. We have never flown overseas when we were required to retrieve checked bags prior to our final destination. This is our dream trip, planned for three years, and it's been incredibly difficult trying to sift through airport/airline/destination requirements. I'm giving it all up to God and hoping for the best!

In that case there is no need to worry, you will not see your bags in Oslo.

Rechecking the bags when connecting is sometimes done when connecting from an international to a domestic flight.
