We are going to Norway in late August. How far ahead of time do I need to purchase train tickets from Oslo to Myrdal? Same goes for ferry's and express boats in the nutshell area. Thanks

There's no deadline to buy these tickets but it's recommended to book a couple of weeks ahead in summer for the popular 8:00 train departure from Oslo and Myrdal-Flam connection. Tickets available through www.nsb.no, see also p, 296 if you have Rick's Scandinavia book. The ferries are easy enough to buy as you go. Even if you purchase a Nutshell package, the ferry and bus portions are not reserved.
