There is a direct train and a direct bus. They both begin and end their journeys at the same central stations. I love train travel, but that bus ride is very nice.

If you want to go to Gothenburg you take the train that goes to Gothenburg, you can see the options and buy tickets at www.vy.no but I'm not sure what you mean by "where to connect with it".
And while the buses on the route are nice, the train is most likely a bit faster.
