Can you keep your luggage above your seat on the train or does it have to stay at the end of the car?

Roller carry-ons and luggage of that size can go on the racks above you. Also, there is a table near the window in between 2 of the 4 seats which are in each seating section. Luggage will fit under the table. We put one piece under the table without any problem and the train conductor didn’t have a problem with it.
