We will be in Bergen in August and will need to travel to the airport twice due to a short cruise before finally flying home. In addition to the bus, Rome to Rio reports that the cost of a taxi is around $25. Given that the bus is a fifteen minute walk with luggage, we seniors are favoring a taxi. Does anyone have any recent experience with this? Is this price more or less accurate? And how does one hire a taxi after disembarking from the cruise? Thanks very much.

If the cruise is a Hurtigruten one then you can just ask them to book a taxi for you by going to the customer service desk onboard the ship. If it's Havila, I imagine they would do the same for you.

As so very often Rome 2 Rio is just plain wrong.
The flybussen stops straight outside the Hurtigruten Terminal- the stop is called "Jektevik Terminal"
Google Maps (if you don't know where buses stop) is way more accurate than the useless Rome to Rio.

A taxi would cost around 600 kr. If you're arriving on Hurtigruten the bus to the airport stops at the port.

The airport post is convenient and comfortable. I took the tram once and the bus twice - the bus is much faster.
I find it very hard to believe that one could get a taxi between downtown Bergen and the airport for $25. I would be wary of the source of that information.

We took a taxi last summer from the Radisson Blu (check, but I believe near your port) to the airport. Early morning, no traffic. Out of curiosity, I checked my credit card statement. We paid $57.21.

I live in Bergen. You are not going to get a taxi for 25 dollars. I just check on my taxi app and the guaranteed fixed price is 630 NOK. About 60 dollars.
There are a lot of taxi companies and prices are not regulated, so you need to be careful who you drive with. The most reputable and reliable is Bergen Taxi Call them at 07000 and they will give you a fixed-price offer and record pickup details. You can call them well ahead to make sure you have a taxi waiting for you.
