Snagged mid-day r/t tickets for r.r. on our cruise port day in August. I have the opportunity to book a private minibus tour for our group of 12 departing @8am. I am hopeful this earlier departure would get us there before the large tour busses. Not sure if all in my group would be interested so I would appreciate any feedback about the Stegastein Viewpoint that might sway them. Takk!

In May 2023 we booked a minibus tour through FjordTours. After the Stegastein Viewpoint our wonderful driver/guide offered to take us to a couple of his favorite spots if everyone agreed. Everyone said yes and we stopped at another viewpoint and then a stop at Otternes Farm. A wonderful way to spend our afternoon.

How difficult is the drive to the viewpoint off hours? Watched a video of someone backing up to allow mini van to pass and have mixed feelings about driving, despite having a car.

That depends on the amount of traffic in the other direction. It's a narrow road with sharp corners and steep hills on both sides.

And it's not just minivans you will come upon. There were some regular tour buses on the road, too.

On a port day in Warnemunde, we opted to rent a car to visit Schwerin. We enjoyed the castle and the surrounding park.
