Starting Oslo-Bergen NiN later in the day

We will be starting the Oslo to Bergen Nutshell on Monday, July 2. We plan to break the journey with a 2 night stay in Balestrand. I know that we can take the 8:25 train from Oslo to Myrdal and make all the connections. Is it possible to start later in the day and still get to Balestrand that evening? This would allow us a bit more time in Oslo.

It was possible in 2017, and time tables show that it is possible until June 23th. It’s a bit early to conclude that the 10pm bus to Balestrand is suspended this summer.
