I'm interested in the St Olvay's Way walk across Norway. I would love to hear if anyone has completed the walk and their advice specifically the route taken, lodging availability and difficulty level. Thank You!!!
I'm assuming you mean St. Olavsleden (the St Olav trail). Are you only interested in Norwegian part of it? Any particular kind of advice you're looking for?
Badger, yes, I was looking at the Gudbradsdalsleden path, 643 km. I understand the trail is well marked however, I'm not aware of the difficulty level or possible lodging along the way. I've previsously completed the St Frances route of the El Camino and found it easy to navigate with ample lodging opportunities along the way. It's also highly populated which the St Olvays is not.
Gudbrandsdalsleden is a completely different trail that I'm less familiar with. But if you've completed a route on el Camino I don't think you have anything to worry about. It is a less popular trail though which has it's drawbacks and advantages. Lodging should not be a problem, although it can be a good idea to make a rough plan and prebook lodging. Or at least ask how likely it is that they will have free beds.
