Sognefjorden in May

Hello!

My wife and I are going to visit family in Sweden in early May and were considering taking a train over to Norway to visit Sognefjorden. Normally we would be adventurous with the weather, but we have a son who will almost be one year old. Is the weather too cold during that time of year for it to be enjoyable with a one year old? Also, since we would love to get outside of the trains and boats, would the weather be an impediment to hikes at that time of year? Thanks

I visited the Sognefjord last year in May. The weather was spectacular. I wore a light jacket in the morning and evening but was just in shirt sleeves during the day. There was snow on the ground at higher altitudes, but not at all on any of the roadways. I did several hikes around Flam and Balestrand and Likhollefossen.

Of course, it could be a different story on any particular day. The three days I was in Oslo (prior to heading west into the fjords) it rained. But it was never remotely cold the entire ten days I was in Norway.
