I am traveling from Bergen to Oslo in mid-May with a stay over in Balestrand. I was planning on doing the Sognefjord in a Nutshell which would make it difficult to see the Naeroyfjord. Do you think it’s worth it to change my overnight to Flåm and get the Naeroyfjord in? Or should I stick with the Sognefjord in a Nutshell and stay with my day in Balestrand?

Without knowing all NiN tours I recommend to see the Nærøyfjord which is one of the two UNESCO world nature heritage fjords.

The Nærøyfjord RIB tour was a highlight of our visit to Norway. Flåm, not so much. There are some nice hikes and scenery but the town itself is meh. It’s basically a transit hub.

I've heard good things about Balestrand and would love to be able to make it work to stay there, but if there is another overnight destination along the NIN route that would allow me to experience the Naeroyfjords and still make it to Oslo at a reasonable time the next day, I'd love to hear how I could make it work. Thanks in advance!
