Drive north to Dal, spend night and on to Heggenes (2 nights)
Alesund 3 nights
Solvorn 2 nights
Ferry with car from there to Stahleim Hotel 2 nights
Drive Stahleim to Oslo, 3 nights.
Can we take the ferry from Solvorn to Stahleim and see the majority of "Norway in a Nutshell" that way?
Should we stop on our way from Stahleim to Olso and do the train ride in Flam?
Anything else we should add? We have the time....:-)
I don't know if this is part of what you plan to do with your two days in Alesund, but you really should take the tourist ferry through the Geirangerfjord with your new car! It's the most spectacular fjord in Norway IMHO. You can easily do this on your way from Alesund to Solvorn. It's about 1.5 hours from Alesund to Hellesylt...then ride the ferry through the fjord to Geiranger...and then from there continue on to Solvorn.
Otherwise, make it a day trip from Alesund...go through the Geirangerfjord and then circle north over Trollstigen Pass (utterly spectacular!) and then back west to Alesund.
It's on my bucket list to do European delivery of a car...have a great time!
