Roadtrip into Jotunheimen then ending in Bergen

I'm crafting an itinerary for the route RS' book suggests from Oslo-Lom-Aurland/Lustrajord-Bergen. Travel in early August. This is what I came up with so far:

Day 1: drive from Oslo, stop in Lillehammer, then continue to Lom. Stay near Lom 1 night.
Day 2: do glacier walk, easy-ish hike and/or horseriding. Then drive to Aurland. Stay in Aurland 1 night.
Day 3: take Sogneford ferry. Go to Stegastein, then to Bergen.

If I stay in Bergen for 1 night instead of 2, I can add another overnight, but not sure if it should be to the Lom area or Aurland. Intuitively, I'm thinking Lom as I'll be arriving in the evening (depends on the Lillehammer stopover). If you followed this itinerary suggestion from RS, would you change anything looking back or did you find the 1 overnight in Lom and Aurland sufficient?

You might be able to save some money if you take the train to Lillehammer and rent the car there, and then return the car in Voss and take the train to Bergen. It also means you don't have to drive in/around the major cities.

Thanks for the tip! It ends up being a bit cheaper after I account for the train tickets. I realized I could stay still stay in Bergen for 2 nights while adding another night to the road trip. At this point, I added a night to the Lom area (staying about 20 minutes east of Lom). The guidebook doesn't mention anything about that area (Vaga), but it seems like a popular place to bike ride. I'm sure there's lots more--- I just need to research it.

It depends a bit on what you're looking for, and if this is the only things you're doing or if it's part of a larger trip. But you could also stay a night in Lillehammer, it's worth a bit of time. It also means you won't arrive as late in Lom.
