We will be travelling between Geiranger and Innsvik in mid-August in a rental car. Dates are locked in with accommodation booked. If we want to use the car ferry between Geiranger and Hellesylt is it best to pre-book. I hear that sometimes queues are long, do you still need to queue if you have a time booked? Would leaving reasonably early (10am booking?) be best.
Pre-booking recommended although ferry has a good capacity.
Yes, queue for embarking. They check row who pre-booked and who not.

??? Define best.
Thanks Mark, we're aiming at avoiding spending a long time in the ferry queue, would like to have some flexibility but if pre-booking the ferry for a specific time is the best way to do that then we will.
As written: you will end up in an embarking queue anyway. With a reservation it plays no role at which place in the row you stand.
