Hello! Based in Minnesota (US), My husband and I are planning to take a two-week vacation to Norway this upcoming late August-September (8/24 - 9/8) with our son who will be 8 months then. We are wanting to figure out an itinerary that won't be too jam packed but still be able to explore a good amount of this beautiful country -- particularly the Fjordlands as we like to hike.
Here is an option below we were considering. My only callout was trying to stay a minimum two-nights (or even three) vs. having to pack up often especially with a baby in tow. Would this be too much driving as well?
- 8/24 Day 1: Fly out of MSP
- 8/25 Day 2: Arrive in Harstad/Narvik Airport-Evenes, Pickup Car and drive to Reine Night 1
- 8/26 Day 3: Reine Night 2
- 8/27 Day 4: Reine Night 3
- 8/28 Day 5: Drive back to Narvik Airport-Evenes and Fly to Trondheim - drive to Ålesund for 1 night
- 8/29 Day 6: Drive to Åndalsnes and down Trollstigen, stay in Gerainger Night 1
- 8/30 Day 7: Boat Trip out to Geraingerfjord, Gerainger Night 2
- 8/31 Day 8: Drive to Balestrand, then stay in Flåm Night 1
- 9/1 Day 9: Flåm Night 2
- 9/2 Day 10: Drive down to Hardangerfjord and then to Bergen Night 1
- 9/3 Day 11: Bergen Night 2
- 9/4 Day 12: Drive or Stavanger, Night 1
- 9/5 Day 13: Stavanger Night 2
- 9/6 Day 14: Drive or Fly to Oslo, Night 1
- 9/7 Day 15: Oslo Night 2
- 9/8 Day 16: Fly Back to MSP
Appreciate any advice there may be on how to edit this plan if suggested!
