Have you looked at AirBnB? I would take a look at the offerings. We have scheduled AirBnB throughout most of Scandinavia. We found plenty of full-apartment rentals for under $100/USD. You might enjoy those that rent a bedroom in order to be around people.

Hello. I previously looked at AirBNB with no luck. I do have a reservation at a pension, paid one night in full. Have emailed the owner to let her know that I won't be arriving until late (around midnight) two weeks ago. Unfortunately she hasn't responded. I want to make a tentative reservation in case for whatever reason the owner doesn't return my emails. Thank you
