Are there direct trains from Oslo to Copenhagen going south and not via Stockholm? I looked on the Vy site and I must be missing something. Thanks for your help.
I don't think you are missing anything. I can't find any direct (meaning no changes) either. We flew between Oslo and Copenhagen, lots of options.
Maybe an expert in the area knows a good route.
No direct trains unfortunately, a change in Gothenburg is needed (great city to spend a night or two in btw). Use www.sj.se for this trip, they will show you the options. Also, when is this trip?
Several years ago I took the overnight DFDS boat from Oslo to Copenhagen . Very comfortable cabin with a large bed and all the comforts . I'd do that again in a minute .
The overnight ferry is also a great option.
I've also done the overnight ferry but in the other direction.....Copenhagen to Oslo.
I enjoyed it.
Badger you are spot on with your advice. The sj site had the trains! Everyone that recommended the over night boat was right! The boat looks like an adventure and the cabin options look nice. I had a little trouble with them accepting my email address but tonight after the 5th attempt I got in. I will have to research when I can book for our June trip. Thanks again everyone!
Hi William, if time wise you can "afford" the extra night I would highly recommend the DFDS ferry. It's nice to see the Oslo fjord from the deck of a ship. Also, get a cabin with a window, you won't regret it.
Have a nice trip!
Pål
The ship will be a great addition. Just waiting for their schedule to open. We added an extra car. Thanks
