Oslo to Bergen

Dear all,
We land in Oslo around 8.am local time on July 12. We have to board a Hurtigruiten ship at Bergen on July 14th around 2 PM.
We would love to take the train. Is it worth spending July 12th is Oslo and take the train next morning (July 13th) or, should we plan to heading to Bergen straight from the airport?
First trip to Norway from the US east coast. Appreciate any and all guidance.

thanks,
HB

Lots of great Oslo sights to choose from, I found Rick’s Oslo recommendations to be valuable.

National Museum, Fram Museum, Frogner Park, and the Norwegian Resistance Museum are all worthwhile. Depending on your energy level and time you might be able to see most of those.

A bit more difficult to get to is the Holmenkollen Ski Jump which I also enjoyed a lot.
