I’m considering this app as recommended in the tour book but has very poor reviews in the APP store. Is it just as easy to buy the pass from a TI. If you buy at TI is it a card that you keep or do you still have to use the APP?
Thanks in advance
In 2024, because we wanted the Senior Citizen discount, we were required to buy physical paper cards at the TI in the Olso Central Station. And by the way, we considered this pass and the Copenhagen Pass (had to have an app) to be truly useful. Both allowed us to hop on transport and zip into museums on whims.
They supposedly sell the Oslo Pass at the TI at Oslo airport from May to September near one of the exits. We never even saw the TI there. But if you buy it there, you should be aware that the Oslo Pass as of 2025 now includes VY train transport from/to the airport as long as it's active during the pass period.
I used the app for much more than just buying the ticket. I found it useful to keep up with all the discounts and inclusions. I did buy mine at the TI at the train station rather than fiddle with my phone should I need to show proof of purchase on the tram, but didn't need to. When I was there in 2024, the VY from airport wasn't included, but now it is. I used that train to get into Oslo. Easy easy.
When you use the Oslo Pass or Copenhagen Pass can you still reserve a date and time at places?
In September, I didn't need to reserve any entries in Oslo.
Same as MariaF, we used the Oslo Pass June 2023 with no reservations.
I'll be getting the Oslo Pass when I'm there in August - could someone tell me what "TI" is? I'll be buying my Pass from downtown, not the airport. Thanks!
Melissa, TI = Tourist Information.
We bought are passes in 2023 at thr Oslo Visitor Center in the Oslo Central Train Station.
Thank you, jeanm!
