Oslo Lodging: Karl Johan v Thon Rosenkrantz or ?

We will be in Oslo for 3 nights this summer and are trying to decide between the Karl Johan Hotel or Thon Hotel Rosenkranz. (Is Thon Opera also worth considering?)

Appreciate any recent experiences staying at any of these hotels, or other suggestions for moderately priced and well situated hotels in Oslo we should consider.

Thanks…again ☺️

I haven't stayed at any of those hotels, but I'd be fine with any of their locations. The first two are only about two blocks apart. The Karl Johan is a bit closer to most of the museums, but the Thon Rosenkranz seems to be just around the corner from a tram stop, and that could be very handy; you'd probably want to use the tram to go up to Vigeland Park, for one thing.

The Thon Opera area seemed a bit more like a business district, but that hotel is closer to MUNCH, and you'd appreciate the proximity to the train station on the days you arrive and depart.

Thanks, acraven, appreciate your guidance. Do you — or anyone else here — have thoughts on staying in the city center (where the two hotels I first mentioned) vs Frogner or Grunerlokka areas?
