We need a hotel in Oslo for 1 night in August. Due to allergies we need an older hotel. Wood floors would be ideal. Does anyone have hotels they could refer us to? Pensions and bed and breakfast inns might work. Thank you. Julie

It'd be helpful to have more information. When you say "older", how old do you mean? I recently stayed at the Thon Hotel Opera in Oslo, and it had wood floors, but was built in 2001. Also, many older hotels have been renovated since they were first built, so the structure might have changed.
What particular allergies do you have? That would be helpful to know.

Chemical Sensitivities to things like formaldehyde and the substances used to make flooring that looks like real wood but isn't. For example there are carpets that are made out of plastic bottles. A good floor of tile or linoleum or real wood works fine.

Keep in mind that Norway is very ecologically minded and uses very few chemicals in most of their products. And I would imagine that includes buildings.
That said, you might want to consider contacting the Oslo visitor center. They might be able to help you with older hotels that are free of those substances. https://www.visitoslo.com/en/tourist-information-centre/
