Oslo hotel for a family of 3 in the city center

Hi,

We're traveling to Scandinavia in June and we'll be ending out trip in Norway. We'll be staying in apartments in the rest of the other countries but I'd like to find a good hotel in the city center for 2 nights. We'll be seeing the fijords for most of the time so we won't be spending too much time in the city. We're a family of 3 with a teenager.

You may want to look into the Thon hotels in Oslo. My family, including 2 kids, will stay at the Thon Hotel Astoria this August. We reserved a family room for a reasonable rate. Whether you could get a family room might depend on the age of your teenager.

My 77 yr. old mother and I went last year the last week in July. We stayed in the Park Inn Radisson downtown and LOVED it. Fantastic buffet breakfast each morning - saved us $$. We were centrally located, the rooms were clean, it was very reasonable (booked 3 mos. ahead). Walk to train station, Karl Johans Gate, harbor for tours, etc. or catch buses/trams right outside for sightseeing. In fact we spent a total of 5 nights and they upgraded our room for no extra charge. Downtown is very safe and clean at any hour. It was quiet, well staffed and clean. Highly recommend.
