Hi all,
I am planning a visit to Oslo, Bergen and the fjords on the 30th Oct till the early first week of Nov and am wondering whether this trip is doable as many advised against visiting during the Nov winter season in part due to the grey skies, fog & short daylight hours. However as this takes place in the very early part of November, I wonder if it is still fine or the views will be rather dull or shrouded by fog etc. This period was selected because it is the only time whereby i can get my leave approved for a trip. Truly appreciate any further insights on this. Thanks.
I think it's likely that you'll run into all sorts of gray skies, fog, short days and maybe rain or even a little snow. Even if it's foggy, there's still a chance you could see some views. Also some Norwegian waffles in the afternoon will still taste awesome no matter how bad the weather turns out.
We were in the fjords earlier this week, and the weather averages 20 days of rain in September. We were so fortunate to have just 1 rainy day out of 19 days in Scandinavia--highly out of the ordinary for this time of the year.
I wouldn't suggest trying to tour that region that late in the year as days are very short. It's a Summer tourist season place.
Hi all,
Thanks for the insights, I guess I am kind of thinking to postpone the trip to another year and season.
