I may book two tickets from the US to Alesund, Norway, if it's significantly cheaper than a through ticket. No checked baggage.
1- In this case, how much time should I allow for a transfer in Oslo from international to the domestic airline? I know I'll have to jump through all the hoops.
2- If I end up buying a through ticket, I'm still not clear what I'll be required to do. For example, Avinor has a list of airlines that allow a domestic transfer service, but SAS to Norwegian isn't on it- that seems strange to me.
3- Car rentals are exorbitant!? Triple what I paid two years ago. Any tips?

- Depends on your attitude to risktaking. But maybe 2-3 hours?
- Not at all strange, SAS doesn't code share with Norwegian.
- Use other means of transportation.
