Oslo Accommodation

I’ve been researching where to stay in Oslo, mid-September for 4 nights. We are two couples and would like to find a 2-3 bedroom, 2-bath accommodation. I’ve tried Booking.com, Airbnb and VRBO. I couldn’t find any centrally located apartments. Would even consider a b&b.

Back in September, we stayed in downtown Oslo, in an Airbnb apartment on Tollbugata street, a couple blocks south of Karl Johans Gate, less than a 10 minute walk from the main S train station and the opera house, and less than 10 minutes to the harbor, in the other direction. Bus and tram stops were also extremely close and convenient. There were just two of us, so a 1-bedroom, 1-bath was adequate. But I went to Airbnb just now, and put in random dates for 4 nights, and got this: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/36024114?source_impression_id=p3_1706590372_7ricA2JVwKDxpIpb

Perhaps you’d already seen this, and it wouldn’t work, because of price or other reasons. I used to be a fan of Vrbo (when it was Vacation Rentals By Owner, or VRBO), but lately, and coincidentally since they’ve rebranded as Vrbo, the offerings are underwhelming. Maybe there’s still a place that will work for you and your dates.

There are dozens of centrally-located vacation apartment rentals in Oslo listed on Booking.com There’s even a two-bedroom two-bath apartment— a rarity in Europe— listed on Booking’s website.

By the way, Vacation Rentals By Owner, or VRBO— once known in Europe as “Homeaway”—- has been owned for almost nine years by the travel website company “Expedia.”

We stayed in an apartment in Grunerlokka that we booked through Frogner House apartments. It was great! They have apartments all over the city.
