This just in - a Tesla was driven into a fjord in Oslo. The occupants were rescued by people on a floating sauna. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/floating-sauna-oslo-norway-tesla-car-rescue-fjord/
On our trip this past fall, we saw people jumping into the fjord in Oslo, on the bank opposite the Opera Hall, from the deck and roof of a sauna. There was smoke emanating from it - not sure if that was from a barbecue, or from a heating fire. At one point, the sauna took off, heading off in the direction of the sea. I’m aware of a floating sauna operation out of Flåm, Norway too, but we’d skipped Flåm - too crowded.
Norway has the highest percentage of electric cars anywhere, and they’re not just Teslas. We rented an electric VW on the trip. Electric cars have pluses and some minuses, too, but any vehicle driven into a fjord is going to have issues. If there’s a sauna floating by, you can get out of the water and into a warm place quickly. Wonder how many kroner the sauna operators charged them for the use of the sauna? Were they American tourists?
Speaking of Teslas, I wonder whether Elon Musk appreciates that there are musk oxen in Norway?
