Online Tickets for Norled Express Ferry from Bergen to Flam

May I ask whether you're going to take the Naeroyfjord ferry between Flam and Gudvangen as well? It's one of Norway's scenic treasures. I haven't taken the express boat from Bergen to Flam, having opted to use the classic Nutshell components instead. It's my understanding the scenery on the express-boat trip isn't as impressive as the Naeroyfjord scenery, because most of the part of the Sognefjord covered by the express boat is quite wide, so it's sort of like being on a lake. I don't want you to miss out on the best that part of Norway has to offer.

Yes, we plan to take the Naeroyfjord cruise as well. We did that on our last trip to Norway in 1994 and look forward to doing it again. Our guide referred to it as the "spectacular fjord" and it certainly was. We'll stay in Flam for 3 nights and have time to explore the local area. Our great-great grandparents are from that area.

I can't imagine they've stopped running the express boat. I found the schedule on the Norled website. It appears the express boat starts running on April 1--one boat a day at 8 AM.

Worst case, there are lots of trains from Bergen to Voss and on to Myrdal. Voss has a bus link to Gudvangen, the termination point of the Naeroyfjord ferry from Flam. Myrdal has the Flamsbana down to Flam. Travel time to Myrdal by train varies from 1:52 to 2:31.

I went back to the Norled website early this morning and was able to book the tickets for the day we wanted. It was a great relief! I don't know why the website did not work yesterday but it put me into a bit of a panic. Thanks for your help and advice!

It wasn't working for me either--I saw the same thing you did yesterday. At least it's fixed now.
