Has anyone taken the one - hour walk on the glacier? Where do you go to start it and how do you get there? I am not planning on renting a car. I am interested in the short walk that they say even 10 year olds can do. I was going to do either the Norway In A Nutlshell Tour or the Sogneford in a Nutshell tour. Can you get to the one hour glacier walk from any of the stops along those routes?

I have not done it. The Norwegian Tourist Office web site makes a good starting point with this page about the Nigardsbreen. Rick's new 14th edition of the Scandinavia book describes this area on pages 335-6; best to visit with a car, or buses run from late June through August only as an all-day excursion.
