Nutshell tour

We are planning to tour the Sognefjord.

The one way trip between Oslo and Bergen sounds great, but what do you do with your luggage ? Does anyone know if there is a storage area on the ferry from Flam to Gudvangen ?

Any suggestions if we wanted to extend our stay on the Sognefjord by an extra day ?

We had our luggage with us when we did the Nutshell tour. On the train and bus it was no problem—but for the life of me I can't remember what we did with it on the boat. I think we just had it by our seats but we were only carrying backpacks. I do know that they have a luggage transport service as well.
We picked up a car in Voss and stayed a night in Aurland. We then drove on the Aurlandsvegen and then visited the Borgund Stave Church. Beautiful!

We pretty much just carried our pack onto the boat and set it down where it wouldn't be in anyone's way. Big boat, short trip, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Train over head shelves are a bigger constraint for baggage. Norwegians usuaslly travel light but we did the Nutshell Oslo to Bergen the start of Easter Week. The end of the car luggage closets were over filled with skis and everyone had big packs for a week in the mountains. But we all fit.
