Planning to go to Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki in addition to Stockholm and driving Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania on a 3wk trip. Trying to determine how much time to spend in Oslo and Helsinki.
Looking at Oslo 1 day--Bergen area 2days-- back to Oslo for 1 day or need more time in Oslo before train to Stockholm? I've read that 1.5 days in Oslo is enough? We're taking the overnight ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki. Same question--how many days in Helsinki to get a good snapshot?
Thanks for your help.
Read RS Scandanavia guide for highlights and time constrained itineraries.
2-3 days in Oslo is ideal, but 1.5 could suffice. If you need a slow day to recover on your trip, I couldn't imagine a better way to do it than a picnic and blanket time in Frogner Park.
Helsinki has a very attractive late 19th century downtown area, but with the exception of some attractive parks (one of which includes the open air folk museum), most of the city consists of nearly identical mid-century apartment blocks. You can get a good overview in a single day, although two would be better. Add a third if you plan a daytrip.
Edgar & Tom thanks for the tips.
