Norway May or June

We have flexibility for our travel dates as a retired couple in our late 60s for an 15-18 day trip to Norway in 2027 ……to include time in Oslo and Bergen, to do the Norway in a nutshell from Oslo to Bergen with extra night stays along the way and perhaps a six or seven night Havila ?? west coast cruise trip - one way Northbound or Southbound direction?

We are totally comfortable with cooler temperatures and possible raining days … just not a big fan of crowds and busy tourist travel periods.

We prefer scenery style travel with historical tours and experiences. Not hikers. Not kayakers.

Enjoy train, bus and ferry travel

We are deliberating which month would be better for this 2027 Norway trip - May or June?

We do have date flexibility

Thank you for your thoughts.

Scandinavia never feels crowded the way some bigger cities to the south can be. I too would pick June, because there will be attractions that are not yet open except on the weekends in May, and in June opening hours may be extended. June will be lovely, take a waterproof rain coat anyway. And the daylight hours are so much longer! June 21st is summer solstice. Enjoy.

June, we did a cruise in June up to the North Cape visiting six fjords/ports and we were told that in early June some of the roads were still snowed in. We did this in the third week of June.
