Norway in a Nutshell Trains/Bus booking question

Hi everyone,
I have a few more questions about booking the individual legs of the Norway in a Nutshell route because I'm going to book each leg of the journey myself instead of doing the package. (trying to save a few dollars) :)
For the trains...I'm going to use the NSB site (or maybe even call, as has been recommended)
For the boat ride from Flam to Gudvangen, I'm going to book through the visitflam website.

I'm not sure exactly how to book the bus from Gudvangen to Voss. I've looked at the nettbus site, but I'm a bit confused by that site. Can I just get bus tickets on the bus? Or should I buy bus tickets ahead of time? We'll be there in early July. I know it will be busy at that time so I want to make sure everything is booked.

You purchase bus tickets from the bus drivers - cash only, so be sure to have local currency. There should be plenty of buses, lots of people will be doing the same thing as you. I used Skyss bus for this (not sure about the Netbus you refer to). I used https://www.skyss.no/en and searched for the Gudvangen kai to Voss stasjon to see the timetables. Schedules are published only a few months out so you'll have to wait a few months for your July dates.

It would be easiest to spring for the Norway in a Nutshell where you take a train to a train to a ferry. The train ride down into the fjord was our favorite part of the tour to Bergen. We didn't find the fjords to be nearly as beautiful as many other places in the world.
