Norway in a Nutshell including Stegastein Viewpoint

We are planning to do the Norway in a Nutshell on our own from Bergen. I'm trying to decide which direction to go - i.e.
Bergen-Voss-Gudvangen-Flam-Myrdal-Bergen
OR Bergen-Myrdal-Flam-Gudvangen-Voss-Bergen

We would like to do the Stegastein viewpoint while we are in Flam. Someone mentioned that for pictures it is better to be there in the morning. So that would mean taking the second option and going to Flam first, then the ferry to Gudvangen and back to Bergen. If we do that, how long should we plan for the Stegastein? And how much time do we need between arriving at the Flam station and catching the bus to Stegastein?

I would book whichever direction has availability for the day you are planning. The weather will have a bigger impact than the time of day for pictures. And of course, you will have no control on the weather.

To include Stegastein Viewpoint, if you are traveling Bergen to Bergen and not planning to overnight along the way, I think your only option will be to go to Flåm first. This would put you on a bus around noon to Stegastein. The local buses and the minibuses for the tours are about a 3-5 minute walk from the ferry dock.

We did a DIY Nutshell from Bergen to Oslo in 2023. We took the morning train from Bergen to Voss, then the bus to Gudvangen followed my the ferry to Flåm. We booked the 2 pm minibus tour to Stegastein Viewpoint and the views were spectacular. We spent about 20 minutes there before continuing on to Otternes Farm.
