Norway in a Nutshell for 2 adults and 3 children

Hello!

We will travel from Oslo to Bergen in mid June. Due to time constrains, we need to complete the trip in one day.

It looks like the Norway in a Nutshell tour with Fjord Tours is about $1300 for our family.

Is this the Fjord Tours the best company to book with for this combination of sightseeing and transportation from Oslo to Bergen?

Also, does anyone recommend trying to book all of these individual legs of the trip on my own to save money? It seems overwhelming to do this but I'm happy to try if people have had success with it.

Thank you for any advice.

There are cost/benefits to booking yourself. I did it but it requires time and effort to make sure you book in the proper windows. If you're going in June (very busy) you should book tickets ASAP especially for the train. The Fjord Tours package makes it easy in that you don't have to worry about the timing it's all worked out for you.

This comes up pretty regularly, here are a few posts that might be of use:

We did a diy Norway in Nutshell trip. It is really fairly easy. Take a look at Fjord Tours to see the schedule and duplicate it in your own. I don't know what discounts the rail company VY has for kids, we booked senior discounts and saved money even in first class.

Take a look at the links CL posted.
