We plan to be in Norway, etc. next summer. We'd prefer May but not everything is fully open. I am trying to determine the specific date the Norsk Folkemuseum is fully open -- that is, staffed with people in costume with the buildings open (it is NOT the same place off-season). Is that June 1st, or ?
The Norsk Folkemuseum is a real gem of an attraction. It includes a rare Stave Church from 1200 that was moved from Gol, Norway to the museum and is part of its collection of historic Norwegian buildings. The museum is open throughout the year from 10-5 with the docents in traditional clothes appearing on weekends during the slower fall and winter months. Not sure when they appear regularly all week during spring. You might want to e-Mail the museum to find out when the historically-dressed docents begin their all-day appearance.

If May you shouldn't miss the 17th which is their national Constitution Day and well celebrated with traditional clothing - do not call it costumes.
