My girlfriend and I are traveling to Norway in August with our son, who will be almost 2 years old at the time. I apologize if some these questions have already been answered, but I want to make sure I don't mess up planning this trip.
We want to do Norway in a Nutshell, and it would be one way. We arrive in Bergen on August 6, planning to stay for two or three nights. We leave Oslo very early on August 14, so we need to be in Oslo by at least the 13th. That leaves about 5 days to see the sights in Norway along the way. I have a few questions that, hopefully, you all might be able to answer.
- I think we will train from Bergen to Voss, but would you recommend taking the bus from Voss to Gudvangen with a 2 year old?
- What cities would you see (and stay overnight) if you had 5 days to enjoy Norway between Bergen and Oslo?
- Is there an overall strategy or itinerary that you would recommend with such a schedule?
- What can I purchase in advance to make this go smoothly? If I purchase rail tickets, I assume they are only good for a certain time and day, so I need to have this pretty well planned.
Thank you for the help. This will be our first international trip with our little guy!
