Night Train from Oslo to Stavanger

Going to book an overnight train from Oslo to Stavanger or Bergen. I will need a sleeping compartment. Traveling with mom and daughter. I know how to buy the tickets but how do I reserve a sleeping compartment? It shows on NSB website that you show up and get key in the cafe on train. Is it 1st come?
Thank you!

You reserve a sleeping compartment during the booking process if you want one.

Ok thank you! Can't find the spot on the reservation where you book the compartment. You can only buy tickets! Sure it will all work or we will just fly!

Have you actually tried buying tickets? There is no way you can miss the "reserve a sleeping compartment"-option. It comes after you've selected a departure, and before you pay.

Badger's right. I just tried it and was prompted to select one or two compartments based on my having entered "two adults/one child (6-`17 years old)" in the appropriate section and a 11:25pm Oslo S departure on Friday April 5 to Bergen (some dates did not appear to have an overnight option). A compartment has a bunkbed. No other amenities mentioned, at least on the buy-tickets pages. Price for two compartments and three people totaled 2700 NOK, or just under $320 at the current exchange rate (non-refundable "mini-price" fare).
