New Year's Eve in Oslo

Hello travelers! My wife and I are arriving in Oslo this Saturday, the 30th, and departing on new years day. It's our first time in Norway (having been to all other Scandinavian countries) and really a stopping point before we head north, then to Bergen, and back to Oslo for one night before leaving for home.
I'd love any recommendations on what to do with such a limited time- and considering what may be closed for the holidays.
Thanks!

In our trip this summer In Oslo we especially enjoyed the National art museum the app is great and has little selections with audio what to see if you have one hour or 30 minutes or whatever for the highlights. https://www.nasjonalmuseet.no/en/visit/locations/the-national-museum/the-national-museum-visitor-guide/

We also loved the Fram Museum of polar exploration there https://frammuseum.no/

And the good but small museum of Viking artifacts. https://www.historiskmuseum.no/english/exhibitions/vikingr/index.html

In Bergen I highly recommend the Bryggens Museum. https://bymuseet.no/museum/bryggens-museum/?lang=en

The Oslo opera house is even more exciting on the inside than on the outside. We saw La Traviata there in September, but Orpheus in the Underworld is being performed on December 31. There are still tickets available. It’ll be a lighthearted operetta, and sung in Norwegian, but with English subtitles displayed on a little screen in front of your seat. https://www.operaen.no/en/#overview

Lots of people were having a cocktail or bubbly in the lobby prior to the performance. Maybe that would add to your New Year’s.

We also took an interesting, very worthwhile tour inside the opera house a couple of days after seeing the performance. There’s a tour in English on the 31st at 2:00 PM, if you want to do that too, or instead.

The new museum called simply MUNCH is definitely worthwhile for art lovers. It's pretty near the Opera House.

Each museum's website should list the days on which the museum is closed.

I Brian, I'll be arriving in Oslo late on the 29th of Dec and leaving first thing on the 2nd. So 3 full days.
Day 1 - 30th I'm heading over to Bygdoy and heading to the Kontiki, Fram and Folk museums. The ferry and hop on bus do not operate in the winter to if staying in city center than catch bus 30
Day 2 -31st. Doing the RS walking tour in the city center. It's a Sunday so many things will be closed. There is no fireworks this year, so haven't figured out what to do.
Day 3 - 1st No definite plans. Will see if there are any NY Day special events or may head to Vigeland Sculpture Park (weather dependent)
Cheers and Happy New Year
