naeroyfjord and stegastein worth it in the rain?

im scheduled to be in flam on wednesday and it's supposed to rain a lot. Is the ferry and the ride to the viewpoint worth it in the rain? Or should i pass?

I haven't been up to the viewpoint at all, much less on a rainy day, so I'm just sort of musing here. It seems to me that bad weather could potentially have more effect on the view from Stegastein than from the ferry, because of low-lying clouds. With luck the ferry trip might not be as affected. It's a considerable expense, though, so I can understand asking the "Is it worth it?" question. I assume the Stegastein bus trip is considerably less expensive.

Unfortunately, Norway isn't reliably sunny, and hanging around, waiting on a really nice day, is an expensive proposition, what with the high cost of just about everything in the country.

We took a RIB tour from Flam up Naeroyfjord in the rain. It was extremely cold and extremely beautiful. Even in the rain, our guide pointed out the viewpoint and suggested we visit it. I'd bet there's some kind of view and the lines wouldn't be as long.

The fjords are magical no matter what the weather. Just do it.

only cost i'd be eating by doing the ferry the next day when the weather is nicer is the 585 kr cost of the ferry. About 55 dollars I think so not crazy. Light rain sounds completely rain but heavy rain sounds miserable.

I didn't book the stegastein viewpoint and might just skip it. It's 370 kr. You can probably get up top views of fjords elsewhere since I'm supposed to hike trolltunga and pulpit rock later in the trip.

Stegastein is very scenic - even in rain.
Best time with clear sky is the morning, so you have the sun from behind for good photos.

Naeroyfjord is world nature heritage and very impressive. If you have done 2-3 other narrow fjords before you may skip it but it is really worth seeing; if you visited only wider fjords before it is a must-do.

I'm going to do Naeroyfjord either way. The question is if i should stick to wednesday when it's supposed to rain or fit it in the next day when it's cloudy but no forecast rain.

to be clear, i care about views and not comfort. I don't mind getting wait and standing in the rain.
