Must See Fjords at Cruise Ports

Hello Friends,
We are cruising at the start of September to the below cruise ports. I believe we are taking a boat in Bergen to the Mostraumen Fjord. We would like to do a second fjord cruise. Then we will either take a self guided walk or a city tour. Any suggestions for a fjord? We are at each port from 8 am to about 5pm daily. Thanks friends!

Bergen
Molde Fjord
Trondheim
Alesund
Maloy

Stavanger
Oslo (2 days)

Alesund—-not sure you’d have time for the Geirangerfjord but there also is the nearby Hjorundfjord— a favorite among Norwegians.

In Ålesund, if there is an excursion on the Trollstigen, it is much more impressive than the cruise of the Geirangerfjord, IMO.

Are you spending any time before or after your cruise in Norway? The Norway in a Nutshell traveling between Bergen and Oslo by rail, bus and ferry through the Naeyorfjord is a wonderful trip.

Thanks Jean M.

We are in for the day for most of our locations except Oslo. But I'll give the road a look and see if there are options for that from Alesund. I appreciate the information. Mike

At Oslo you don't arrive until 1400.
That means you will have spent several hours that morning cruising the Oslo Fjord. I would want to have a quick breakfast in the buffet then be out on deck ASAP to enjoy that. I imagine a ship like that will have a deck grill to grab a quick take out lunch.
I can't think of any other easily accessible fjords. On the full day I would want to be island hopping on the City ferries in the fjord.
At Molde see if you can get an excursion up the Romaldsfjord to Andalsnes.
At Trondheim you sail in through a fjord, so same drill watch the charts on your TV and be willing to be up very early and on deck. After you've docked grab as fast a breakfast as you can and just explore the city.
Bergen you don't have time to do another fjord and explore the city. If I had time I might be inclined to take a Voss bound local train as far as maybe Dale, then back for Fjord views, but would need to plan carefully. In any case I think city exploration is more important.
At Maloy see if you can get up to Nordfjordeid. May have to be by road along the fjord, there is a ferry I think, but the timings are unlikely to work.

Vik (spell check strikes again) it is all about the long sail in and sail out. Eat before the ship leaves and prepare to be on deck most of the evening, then the midnight buffet. It is also a tender port.
