Mobility challenged Norway in a nutshell

Hi. Dad uses a walker and can do some steps. We are hoping to do the Norway in nutshell tour but am wondering about whether the train from Myrdal to Flam and the boat are accessible. Anyone have experience with this. Thanks

The Flåm Railroad cars have a couple of steps to get on and off. There are handrails on both sides to assist. Try to find an image by Googling "Flåmsbana carriage stairs". I found a good image from I stock, but I can't link it. The trains are wheelchair accessible. You could inquire about assistance in advance or ask one of the attendants for help.

Assuming you are booking the ferry run by FjordTours, there are ramps for boarding and wrap around ramps to walk around the boat. Google some images to get an idea. I think there was a small threshold to step over in the doorway into the interior of the boat for seating. I suggest you try to get in the boarding line early to secure a nice window seat for your dad. Maybe, speak with an employee beforehand to see if they will assist in boarding.
