I'm considering taking the "make your own hotel reservation" for the overnight stay in Flam using fjordtours doing NIN, mainly since the package has no refunds on cancellation, and the hotel is half the cost. Any decent hotels in Flam - Rick only mentions 2 in latest book. Anything decent under $200/night for one night in Flam?

I stayed at the Fretheim hotel in Flam. Very nice but not cheap. But then it's Norway and nothing is cheap. The buffet dinner is excellent but not cheap.

We stayed at the Flam Hostel just last week (it's at a camp ground). It was clean and very nice. We had a private room with a private shower. Simple room, but a nice bed and a good shower. Great location and friendly staff. It was the cheapest place I could find and I was VERY happy with it.
