Hi travelers,
I'd appreciate any advice on visiting the Lofoten Islands, leaving from Bodo. Things like ferries, renting a car for a few days, best places for lodging, site seeing, any special place you loved.

I don't have a great deal of advice since I only visited for one day via cruise ship. I did find the scenery spectacular and enjoyed some time at a fishing village and Haukland Beach. This beach made me feel like I could be in Hawaii with the jagged peaks and white sand. It helps that it was a beautiful sunny day.
I could see spending several days in this location. I hope those with more experience can give you more detailed answers.

We plan to stay 3 nights, rent a car to drive around (mid September). Any suggestions on lodging, restaurants, and places you'd recommend seeing on the Lofoten Islands would be very helpful. Thanks!
