In July we're staying at Gjørven Hytter about 2km outside Flam. It sounds like there aren't many taxis/Ubers in Flam based on prior posts.
It does looks like there is a station on the Flåmbana train line nearby. How frequent is the train? What would be our transportation options into town?

If you google Flåmsbana schedule, you will most likely end up on Railninja or some other scam site that really can't be trusted.
But you can look up the schedule at www.vy.no

The station is called Håreina., and is almost opposite where you are staying with Flam Kyrke (the Parish Church) very close by.
Trains are about every 75 minutes, and cost 90 Kr (about US$9 each way into town).
But I've done that walk and it's a nice walk into town (30 minutes or so), along the quiet valley road which shadows the railway much of the way up the valley. It is still in the lower river valley there, before the valley steepens.
You can also rent bikes or cars in town as well.

Thanks for the train info! The walk sounds pretty too. I think we can get an initial ride from our hosts, but this is helpful if we want to explore further. Thank you!
