My wife and I are planning to join the RS Scandinavia tour in '21 or '22. The tour ends in Bergen. I was hoping to take a ferry from Bergen to the Shetlands (Lerwick) afterward, but I cannot find a schedule. Has that particular route been discontinued? (Yes, I'm aware that the North Sea is often cantankerous.)
Thanks for your help.
There are no ferries between Bergen and the Shetlands. But you can fly from Bergen to the Shetlands with Loganair. Or at least you could before the virus, hopefully those flights will return.
Hi! Another option would be to fly Wideroe from Bergen to Aberdeen, then take the daily Northlink ferry to Shetland. Bergen to Aberdeen is about 90 minutes; Aberdeen to Lerwick is 12 hours. The Northlink ferry has sleeping accommodations.

Welcome back, Mike.
Oh boy.... can we join you!!! I was actually wanting to do the same thing but there is no ferry anymore. Last time I was there was in June 2010. We took the ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick.

That is certainly an option. But given the choice between a 75 minute flight to my destination or a 90 minute flight to somewhere else and then an overnight ferry, I know what my choice would be.
