I've worked the last few months and had an excellent trip planned for Norway. Making reservations through Booking.com was a breeze. Unfortunately I've just discovered I have bladder cancer and will require chemo and possible bladder replacement. Upon cancelling my reservations I had no problems except with the above hotel I accidentally didn't select the room which allowed cancellation. I've contacted the hotel and explained my problems and they refuse to refund my money. The hotel is already fully booked for this date but they have refused to help.
Does anyone have any recommendations to help me get my money back? Booking.com has not had any luck either.
Thanks and I'm so dissapointed not to be able to go.

First off, I'm sorry about your diagnosis. I hope the treatment goes well for you.
The only thing I might suggest is that you dispute the charge with your credit card company.
I have done this and had good luck.

I stayed at the Balestrand Hotel in 2016 and the lady in charge there said that she is a member of the Kviknes family. Maybe she would be nice enough to help you. Since it seems as though the hotel could have the room rented, I hope someone will help you. Best wishes with your health situation.

What credit card did you pay with?
Some credit cards offer some amount of limited travel insurance. You might check with them to see if they can help.
