We will be arriving in Oslo mid-Day on June 15, 2022 and staying at Clarion. Should we use the train from the airport or take a taxi? In some cities we have visited some of the commuter trains do not have adequate space for luggage. Would appreciate any suggestions on mode of transportation.

I understand taxis are extremely expensive in Norway. I’d check that out before deciding.

How much luggage do you have? I have taken the train to Oslo S with backpack, rolling duffle and ski box and found room on the train for the baggage.
BTW the local train is cheaper than the Fllytoget express but has more stops. Flytoget has only 1 stop before Oslo S.

Public trains – Vy
Several regular trains operated by the national railway company Vy
connect Oslo Central Station and Oslo Airport Gardermoen. On average,
there are three departures per hour in both directions. You can buy
tickets at all Entur ticketing machines, the Oslo Visitor Centre or in
Vy’s app.

Hi akinard, we stayed at the Thon Opera which is literally next to the train station. We arrived via train from Bergen then took the direct train (Flytoget) to the airport at the end our stay in Oslo. It was very easy to do. We just walked over to the station the night before and purchased a ticket.
According to Google Maps, the Clarion is about a 7 min walk from the train station. It’s a nice area with sidewalks. I’d take the Flytoget. Enjoy your trip!

How much luggage may I bring?
You may bring up to three pieces of luggage with a maximum total,
combined weight of 30 kilograms. You are responsible for your own
luggage during your journey and you must be able to carry it on board
and place it in a suitable location.

We took the train from the airport and each of us had a 22” carryon bag plus a smaller tote/ duffle. I don’t recall any problems at all.
We enjoyed Oslo tremendously!

The Gardenmoen train stations (VY local and Flytoget) are in the terminal building downstairs below the Arrival Hall. The VY has a staffed window office and automatic ticket machines that did NOT require a PIN. My chip and signature Visa card worked.
