Hello! I'm looking at the Vy and NIN information but still confused. Party of 4 (two adults, two teens) departing Oslo on June 19 to explore five days in Aurlandsfjord area. We are already booked 3 nights in Aurland and 2 in Balestrand. We will depart Balestrand on June 24 for Bergen. We will not have a car.
We would like to do the train from Oslo and are interested in Viking Village but maybe doing Flam and the Myrdal to Flam train the following day since there will be a very large cruise ship in Flam that day. We don't want to take. Bus from Oslo. Can we take the train to Myrdal and then a bus to Gudvagen?

I'm a confused about what you're trying to do on each day, but perhaps this information will be helpful:
The mainline train runs from Oslo to Myrdal to Voss to Bergen (with a bunch of other stops along the way).
There are buses from Voss down to Gudvangen. It's a scenic trip. If you want to make Viking Village your first stop (be sure you have somewhere to stash your luggage), you can start by taking a train from Oslo to Voss and then the bus to Gudvangen.
There are also buses from Gudvangen to Flam. I think they are primarily used by cruisers taking the (extremely scenic, highly recommended) Naeroyfjord ferry from Flam to Gudvangen. Looping back to Flam by bus is a lot cheaper than round-trip fare on the ferry. Unless you're planning an excursion into the Naeroyfjord on one of the little inflatable boats, I wouldn't want to skip the Flam-Gudvangen ferry.
I haven't been to Aurland, but I think there's bus service from Flam to Aurland.
I assume you're planning to take the express boat from Balestrand to Bergen at the end of your five days in the fjord area. I wouldn't consider that a good substitute for the Naeroyfjord ferry trip.
