My husband and I (70’s) will be traveling to western Norway in May. We fly in to Alesund and pick up a rental car. We will be in Alesund for 2 days and then plan to travel to Stryn for 2 days, then Balestrand for 2 days, then Voss for 2 days, and on to Bergen for 2 days before flying home. Does this itinerary make sense or are there better areas to visit or a better itinerary? We enjoy short walks but not long hikes. Everywhere looks so beautiful it is difficult to nail down the best routes. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thank you for your reply. I apologize, but I did not see your reply to my previous question. Yes, I am aware of the cost of a one-way drop-off. I already have our car reserved. We will be in Norway the first weeks of May and we will be in Bergen for Constitution Day. We are not planning to go to Oslo, but rather plan to focus on the western side of Norway from Alesund to Bergen.

When in Stryn, don’t miss a visit to Hjelle and spend a good amount of time exploring Lovatnet & Briksdalbreen.
