I will be vacationing in Norway in June with my adult son and daughter. We are all outdoorsy people, who love hiking. We plan to fly to Oslo, and head to Bergen. I'm looking for advice as to how to split my time: how long in Oslo? How long in Bergen? Are there any "must do" activities/hikes in Oslo or Bergen? Any recommendations for a a fjord cruise from Bergen? We will take the train from Oslo to Bergen but should we go direct or is there an intermediate stop where it would be worth spending a day or two? Any other suggestions?
There is lots of information out there, including on this website and in Rick’s Norway guidebook about great ideas for visiting Norway. Could be worth a read !
You could easily enjoy a few days in Oslo to visit the Viking Ship Museum, Frogner Park, Akerhus Castle and the Norsk Folkemuseum - all of which I recommend. There's certainly more. I also recommend the very scenic Flåm Railway - which connects from Oslo and Bergen. For more info see: https://www.visitflam.com/
