Hi all,
We want to visit Fantoft Stavkirke after our Scandinavia Tour ending next August. Our plan is to spend an extra day and visit the church on our way to the new hotel near the airport (yucky 6 am flight). It looks like the best option might be to check out of the tour hotel, take a cab/public transit to the new hotel, leave the luggage there, then backpedal halfway to Bergen to visit the church (there is no luggage storage at the church). I've done searches, following every possible thread of information, but can't seem to find definitive proof there is luggage storage at either of the public transit station (or nearby) the church. We'd like to avoid the backpedaling if necessary.
Thanks all!
I don't remember a luggage-storage option in that area, though I wasn't looking for one. I think there's a fair amount of uphill walking between the transit stop and the church, and I don't remember whether it's a paved path.
I believe the light rail runs fairly frequently, so the trip back to the stave church shouldn't require an excessive amount of transportation time.
No, not that I know of. I guess the question is how much luggage do you have? If you don't have a huge amount of luggage the easiest is probably to make a stop on the way to the airport. The tram is frequent and the church is pretty close to the nearest tram stop. It's however uphill to the church, so with luggage you might want to take the bus from the tram up the hill.
